So a couple of weekends ago my friend Chuckie got married. It was a great wedding followed by feast and dance that evening. Nat came up from Inuvik and went to the feast and dance along with moi. She had lots of fun as well. We all danced the night away.
Since then its been work work work. My contract in McPherson is up on the 5th of Sept and is in the process of being renewed but it is not complete yet. Should be soon I would imagine.
Last night there was a anniverasary/birthday party with an 80s theme. It was a good time with lots of laughs and good food and good people. Now I am here at work on this Sunday afternoon
Not alot to update about really. The Blue Jays are struggling right now and lost 10-0 today. Oh well September will be good to see who they call up. Hopefully some exciting prospects.
Well I am going to finish work for the day peace

Out of The Box Came.....ME
I was sitting home on my couch Weds night After work when all of a sudden this girl I know came in my house and said come on lets go. I said Where? Her: to Delores your going to dance for Alex. I was like NO WAY. Then they convinced me to do it. So I got down there and they put me in this box dressed in these girly pants with a black thong on top of it and a spaghetti strap shirt. so When Alex got there and opened the box I got out of it and proceeded to attempt to give her some sort of dance. While then there was 40 people there watching and yelling and laughing. I know for sure its on video camera to. Those girls better have enjoyed themselves since I ve gotten teased bout it for 3 days now. Oh well I hope it made Alexs night memorable

Success
Well Brett Lawrie made his much anticipated MLB debut tonight for th Blue Jays. Went 2 for 4 with and RBI in a 5-4 win. I would say thats a good start to the ole career. Man however watching that bullpen is going to give me a heart attack soon. After blowing the game yesterday against Tampa, Rauch came in tonight with a 2 run lead and of course had to give up a run to make me nervous but at least they won.
Anways just gonna take it easy tonight and see whats in store later I guess.

Maybe my longest blog entry
Well I have been thinking of writing on this subject for quite awhile now but did not feel the time was right or that I would be able to find the proper words or context to write about it
Since I am not from Fort McPherson I didnt have the the priviledge of knowing Jonathon Andre well. I believe I met him once when he and his father James delivered some Christmas Hampers for us at the Co-op. I'm sure that James offered to do this so he could drive his spanking new truck around lol.
All I knew of him was he was a boxer from here and that he had lived a life of wrong choices and had turned his life over to Christ and was doing a great job as an ambassador for Jesus and as a role model for the youth of not only Fort McPherson but all over. I still recall when I came back in March and James picked me up at the airport and the great talk we had while driving back to McPherson about Jonathon and Christ and the wish of Jonathon to bring the good news to young people here who may have been struggling or going down the same road he had travelled.
I was here when Jonathon had his first pro fight and remember feeling proud to be living here like everyone else was when he won his first two fights.
I remember just three months after I came back sitting at the complex for Jonathons memorial service and being inspired and moved by the preaching of Pastor Pruden and the testimony that Jonathon spoke of. The testimony of grace and forgiveness. He didn't only speak it. He lived it as well. I remember Pastor challenging us who were there to embrace the truth as the Truth shall make you free. It can and will free you from the anger, hurt and unforgiveness in our lives. Jonathon spoke of this in his testimony when recalling how he was praying for the man who had murdered his sister years prior.
Those words about wanting our lives to make a difference and to someone the young people in town can turn to when they need to talk or need help touched me as I want to be known as someone who when people need help that they can know I was there for them.
The Bible says Nothing we can do or have ever done can seperate us from the Love Christ has for us. For me this is such comfort because I am far from perfect and knowing no matter how much I screw up that I God never gives up on me. I really want the legacy of Jonathon to shine in my life even though I didnt know him. I want to be a forgiving person, a loving person, a person who tried to make a difference in the lives of people I came into contact with.
Again I was reminded of this by the testimony of Canadian boxing Champ Kris Andrews who travelled similar roads to Jonathon and also found grace, freedom and forgiveness through Christ, The Time has come people of McPherson for self examination. The time has come to let go of the hurt in each of our lives, The anger and sadness and unforgiveness. Its time to let that go its only hurting ourselves.
I went through my parents seperating even though my dad was a pastor and being a follower of Christ, a time of me being so angry at God for not answering my prayers the way I wanted. I went through a time of addiction and suicide attempts and bad relationships only to find that void in my life was still there. Eventually after years of prayers and love from many people and me realizing that God loved me and would still forgive me for the way I had been living was I able to work through the unforgiveness, bitterness and hatred that had consumed me. I have found time and time again that God is faithful. He always shows up right on time even when we don't deserve it.
So Having travelled down some of the same issues as many other people if the Lord can use me to help someone or to inspire a group of people to know they to can overcome whatever issues are in their lives then I am willing. I have had the opportunity to share my story both to groups and individuals and I believe they were helped and encouraged. I believe its important to share our stories of trials and victories as the Bible Says we defeat Satan by our lives and by the words of our testimony.
Anyways this is alot longer then I intended so I hope this can encourage people and let them know that you to can make it no matter what is going on in your life right now.

Finally updating and my Midway Report
Well I figured it is time to finally update my blog. As most of you know I have been in McPherson again since the first part of March working again for the Co-op here. I have been extremely busy and at times it has been challenging however it is not to bad overall. Again John the boss who was here when I got here retired due to health reasons. He and his wife left on the 16th of July. My new Boss Conrad and his wife Fran came in and seem to be good people who I enjoy working for so far.
Other then work I have not been doing alot of extra stuff. I played in a basketball league when I got back which ended at the end of May. I also still play bingo once in awhile. I dont go out to often as there is lots of drama round here that I like to avoid as much as possible.
This weekend is Midway Weekend here in the area. It is a huge weekend of camping, music, dancing etc. It takes place about 40 km outside McPherson. Due to it only being one weekend a year our staff all decided to go to Midway and forget about work so Conrad Fran and I and once cashier worked all weekend.
Speaking of Midway , since I moved here back in 2009 my friends and people from town have been telling me how great it is and that I have to go. So yesterday my good friend Nathalie and her friend Samantha came from Inuvik and after I got off work we went up. Wow what beautiful scenery on the way there. The view when driving the delta was amazing. So when we got to Midway Lake we walked around checked it all out and listened to some of the bands playing. Nat and I decided to enter a square dance together which I am sure we made a fool of ourselves but it was fun. I also jigged with couple elders which was fun. Around midnight we decided we should head back into town, So we came back and went to sleep. This morning I got up and cooked the girls breakfast and round noon they dropped me off at work and headed on their way back to Inuvik. I imagine I will be heading down there in a couple weeks or so for a weekend. I need to get out of Mcpherson for a couple days before I get to "bushed" as they say here.
My contract is supposed to end at the end of August so I am hoping between now and then it gets extended so I can stay and work. I dont know what I am going to do if it doesn't. Oh well I will worry about that when the time comes. No use getting worked up now.
Anyways I dont have much else to write about write now other then I promise to try and update more frequently for the 5 people who read this.
Peace

Yes I am Alive
Well I am almost halfway done my 3 months up here so decided it would be good to update on whats been up.
I left Fredericton on March 8 and got to Mcpherson on March 9. Since then I have been busy. The first two weeks the boss was away so I was acting manager as soon as I got here. That wasnt to bad although I had to get a few reminders on how to do some of the paperwork. Alot of people back here were happy I was back. They missed me I guess. So work has been steady. The store was way overstocked when I came and needed to be straightened out as there was lots to do. I think now we are finally getting caught up and the grocery shelfs looking good. Other then working I have played some bingo and cards every now and then. I did manage to win 1 Bingo game lol.
So I am just starting to look around and see what opportunities are out there for June when my contract ends here. I am not sure if it will be extended or what so its good to be prepared in any case.
The weather was good when I got here but was cold all of last week. Now its back to being warm again. I notice now it is light out until after 11 or so. The ice road will be out soon and then we will be isolated here for 6 to 8 weeks. Once that is done it will be time for me to come home or go to work somewhere else.
There is going to be a federal election in a few weeks in case u didnt know. Thats all I will say bout that.
Well it is 1230 here so I guess that will wrap up this update. I promise to be more frequent with my updates from now on. Peace

2 weeks to update and the world is changing still
Well I am getting harassed to update so I figured I should. Not sure what I am going to update about but I will think of something.
I wrote last time about the uprising in Egypt. Well since the success of the Egyptian people in chasing out their own leader riots have broken out in many middle eastern countries demanding their leadership resign. The one gaining the most attention is in Lybia where the government has ordered its army to kill and arrest innocent protesters. The leader of this country after listening to him speak I have come to the conclusion he is insane. He blames the uprising on Osama Bin Laden and said that he has slipped a hallucinogenic substance into the liquids of the citizens. This might be one of the weirdest things I have ever heard. I hope the violence being put on these innocent people is stopped and the people are able to successfully become a democratic society.
Also I read today that CBS has cancelled Two and a Half Men due to a crazy rambling on the radio by Charlie Sheen. This poor man needs help. First he has a cocaine filled party then he failed to go to rehab. Now he is lipping the producer and writer for the show. I feel for Denise Richards who is raising his kids alone. However if she needs help she can def call me.
I was deathly ill last week with tonsilitis and bronchitis. I am now over that but my mom is deathly sick. I think she caught what I had
Tammy is well On Valentines Day She came over and I cooked us dinner and then we spent some time together which was nice. Sadly we havent been able to see each other since. Hopefully this weekend.Although this weekend they are calling for a big storm coming and I see that it is snowing outside now. Supposed to get 30 cm or so. Should be interesting to see how much we get. I can bet less then they are calling for
Well thats all I can think to blog about for now

Change as I know It
Well I figured I would take some time to update since Its been two weeks.
I have been watching with interest the proceedings in Egypt over the past few weeks. I have watched an persecuted peopled tired of the way they were being treated, people who cared about their country and the future for the kids, I watched them peacefully yet forcefully take their country back. The resignation of President Mubbarak and the lifting of emergency rule will finally allow the people to be free and democracy to flourish.
This shows me that people in this country when unhappy can peacefully make their point and impact change in their city and country. People no longer need to be silent about the misplights of others. Its time for people to stand up to end poverty and in equality in our land. Everyone has the right to a safe place to live and a meal to eat. I am calling a generation of people to stand up and shout that we wont stand for the status quo anymore.
Our society needs to be a leader in equality for all and be a society that shouts at inequality and injustice when it sees it. This means Tougher sentences for criminals. Enough of this probation for beating women or driving drunk.
Anyways I am off for the weekend going to see Tammy and relax. Hope everyone has a great weekend and remember to stand up and shout if an injustice occurs.

Time for an Update
Well here I am working another exciting night. I have worked alot of nights over the last few months but that is coming to an end. I am starting a new shift next week 9-530. I will now be able to have a life again lol.
So whats new since my last update. Tammy and I are doing well. I guess our relationship is now facebook official. She is deathly ill with the cold this week however and I hope she feels better soon. On Saturday her and Taylor (her daughter) came over and visited for awhile. Taylor played with a sticker book that mom bought and then we went out to Walmart as Tammy and I both needed some supplies.
After doing this we went out to dinner the four of us which was a nice time. Later after we dropped mom off then Tam and I went to her place and watched Twilight Eclipse which I told her was not bad even though I would never admit it in public. We then went to a couple of places where her friends had gathered. We didnt stay there to long and then I went home.
So I have couple days off after tonight which I think I will relax and take it easy. I have a couple things to do and stuff but most likely will be staying in due to the massive storm we are supposed to get.
Sunday I will go to church and then I think Tammy and I are going to her brother in laws to watch the superbowl. Lets go Packers.
Well other then that not alot going on although I have been watching with interest the protests and stuff in Egypt where the common man is taking back their country in order to better their lives. I am supportive and admire them as they fight for change that is needed. Their country is on the road to freedom and democracy. I will continue to watch and see what transpires.
Well back on the phone for me and then home to stay in during the storm. And as always PEACE

Series Starts tonight
Well I should do a weekly-wrap up I suppose. Lets see Sunday and Monday I just tried to stay warm and not freeze or die on my way to work. Tues on my day off I did nothing. Weds I worked as well. Thursday when I came to work I realized I had gotten approved for my new shift, instead of working from 3-2 now I will be working 9-530 which I think is alot better. Just waiting to finish up the night here and go home for the weekend
I will be playing a 50 match 2$ heads up poker series with a guy on pokerstars. We are going to start tonight. I would definately say I am an underdog in this but hope to gain some experience in heads up play by the end.
So I am off this weekend Tammy and Taylor will be over tomorrow and I am sure we will prob go out since I havent seen her in a week. Its hard with us working diff shifts but we make the best of it.
Other then that not alot to write about right now so I think I will end as usual with peace.

A 10 day Update
I was suprised to see it had been 10 days since I blogged. Basically there hasnt been anything to blog about.
I was at my bros Weds, Thurs and came back Friday morning. It was my nephews 2nd birthday. Boy is getting big I tell ya. We ate lots played some XBOX with my brother played some Scattergories which I won. Also my sister in law had a friend up to so was nice to meet her. Then yesterday I came back to Freddy on the bus and Tammy picked me up at the bus station. We then went to lunch with her friend Vicki and Tammy's daughter Taylor. After that we picked up Tammies mom and went to their place. We ended up there all night due to the weather being so bad. I went home this morning and went to sleep. \
This must be the season for babies as well. My good friends Eric and Lisa had a beautiful baby girl this week and 3 other people I know are expecting.
Other then that not alot to blog about I did apply for a new shift at work which would be nice to get. I also had my performance review done and I did well with that and was happy
Well its back to calls for me I guess. Peace

Yo Yo Blogging fans I am back after a week of not blogging,
Not sure what might pop out of my head onto this paper today lol. So on the weekend a 22 year old decides to try and assassinate his senator. While doing this he killed 6 people while she is alive. What kind of world do we live in where people are so filled with rage and hatred that they feel the need to kill innocent people. This further proves that people in this world are hurting and that everyone needs to open their eyes and try and help the hurting people around them.
I also read in the OBITS today of a 2o year old girl who took her own life. How sad that a young lady would feel so alone and hopeless that she had no other option then to kill herself. Please people realize that there are people who care about you and will listen and believe in you. Reach out to your friends and loved ones. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. The sun always shine in the morning.
This is a depressing post I guess but its what and how I feel right now.
On the other hand Tammy is coming over Saturday and I am going to meet her child and her family (yikes)
I am sure it will be fine as things are progressing well in that area. She is a great gal and I enjoy spending time with her and talking to her.
Well thats all i feel like writing for now so Peace

List for 2011
Well I havent updated in 2011 yet so decided it is time for me to do my yearly look forward and some things I hope to accomplish this upcoming year.
I dont have any resolutions per say so I think I will do it in list form. Hope you enjoy it
1. Find a career rather then hopping from job to job.
2. Live in the same province for a whole year
3. Lose about 15-20 pounds
4. Be in a good relationship with a lady
5. Improve my personal financial situation.
6 Get back involved with activities at Church
7. Make a profit playing cards by the end of the year even if only 1$
8. Advance above current position at Job
9. hopefully see some of my friends from Mcphoo
That is all I can think of currently. SO I guess I will end for now. I can always add more later
Peace
I dont have any resolutions per say so I think I will do it in list form. Hope you enjoy it

Well this is my last work shift for the year 2010. This year I have worked on two opposite ends of the country in two vastly different Climates. So i figured this blog would be a quick edition of the year 2010 in my life
The year began with me in Fort McPherson NWT. I was there working for Co-op. New years Eve I think i just stayed home as far as I can remember anyways. Then in the middle of January I came home for 2 weeks which was greatly enjoyed and needed. Feb Mar Apr May I was working back in McPherson for Co-op. this had good days and bad days depending on what kind of mood the boss was in. There were days he was very hard to deal with and other days he was great. One of my favorite times was when the olympics were going on and we had the TV set up at the store so people could watch as they shopped and we could watch when we had a minute. I can remember watching the gold medal hockey game in the store after we had just closed and the 4 employees and myself just jumped for joy when Sidney scored the goal to win.
Spring came and I met Eddie and spent lots of time at his place unwinding with a cold beverage, eating and playing bingo there as well. This was my place to go along with Glen and Connies to get away from work for few hours.
In July I came home and started working back in here in Aug and have been ever since. I played ball for the summer and now play poker once every 6 weeks or so with the boys. I am seeing a great gal now and hopefully that continues.
All in all it was a good year i guess and hopefully it continues. To you and yours May 2011 bring nothing but joy and happiness

Christmas is done for another year
Well Another year of Christmas has come and gone. This year was a mixed week as Tuesday we buried my good friend who passed away. After that I came to work to find out they had given me the whole day off for Bereavement when I didnt ask. This was very much appreciated as I needed it.
Weds I just finished up some last minute preparations and Thursday I was off to Saint John to spend Christmas with my Grandparents which was nice. I realize each year how blessed I am at my age to have 3 of my 4 grandparents still alive. This is something I never take for granted. However like people everywhere I do think of lost loved ones. My grandfather passed away when I was 10 years old and the funeral was Dec24/1991. I miss him greatly and think of him often at this time of year.
So we got to Saint John around 130 and spent Thursday with my grandparents which was a nice relaxing day. We had Supper then relaxed in the evening. My grampy and I played crib and he beat me 2 out of 3 games. I dont win to often but he likes to play and I enjoy it as well. We then went to bed for the evening around midnight.
The next day my brother Jeremy and his Wife Emily got there around 1130 or so and brought with them Eggs, Bacon, ham and sausage and bread for toast and cooked up a wonderful brunch. We had a great time together eating and laughing. We then opened the gifts they had brought and the ones we got for them. After the brunch I decided I needed a nap. Once I woke up it was time to go to church for the christmas eve service. This was a good one hour service. We then came home and watched the original version of Miracle on 34th Street. I greatly like this movie. After that my moms friend Keith came over and spent the night there
Christmas morning We got up around 930 and opened our gifts. I got 2 nice jackets a couple of books, a few nice sets of pants and shirts. And I got a badly needed wallet. After that we had a good breakfast again. Keith then had to leave but later that day we had a wonderful Turkey dinner that my mom and grandmother made although I must take credit as I cooked the squash and it was terrific. After dinner and relaxing I again lost to Grampy in crib lol this time 2 straight.
After that it was talkin on the phone time and then sleep. This morning I got the 930 bus from Saint John and came here to work. It hasnt been to busy tonight which is nice. I think I am going to watch a movie after work which will be nice. I do work again tomorrow then am off for a day then work two then 3 off. So thats my Christmas recap. I hope everyone had a joyous time with the friends and family and everyone has a happy new year.

What Cancer Can not Do
Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the Spirit.

When Doubt and Faith Collide
So I am laying in bed early this morning (4-5AM) and I begin to think. In the bible there is is a story of the disciple Peter in a boat during a storm and he sees Jesus walking on the water. Peter then calls out to him and says "Lord if its you bid me come." Jesus said to him "come". So he begins to take a few steps on the water but then looks around and begins to panic then sink. It ends with Jesus reaching out his and and grabbing Peter and asking why he doubted.
Well I was thinking about that story and the times in peoples lives where they are at a crossroad in their lives. Maybe its a place of decision where they are not sure which way to go. Then after alot of thought, prayer, consideration or talking to people they figure out which way to go or which road to take. Just before they begin to take the road they have chosen they ask for one more sign "Lord if its you bid me come" And they are certain they hear the word COME. So alot of times in life when we make first make those decisions they are sure its the right way to go and we get part way down that road or couple months or even a year later we start to doubt ourselves. Was this really the right thing for me to do? Is this really the job I was supposed to Pick? Is this the spouse I am supposed to be with? And those doubts just creep in ever so slightly even though things might still be going ok. All of sudden in many cases I find that people over a period of time begin to doubt those decisions they have made. Its at this point I realize in my life I need to remember the steps I took or someone took before making the decision in the first place. I need to remember asking the question "Lord if its you Bid me come" and the people I talked to, the careful consideration I undertook. And most of all I need to Remember the answer that we heard "COME".
Even those times I doubt the decisions I've made and begin to backtrack or doubt the reason I made them in the first place The Lord is there reaching saying "Oh yee of little faith, Why did you doubt?"
I look at my friend dying in the hospital and events like that when the prayers doesnt look like its going to be answered the way I want can really make someone question their faith and beliefs. I think to myself this person has 3 young kids and I cant for the life of me understand why the Lord doesnt heal her because in my heart of hearts I know he can. But then as I begin to maybe have questions (which are ok to have and doubts which are ok to have) I hear the voice saying COME. I am reminded of the verse that says. "His ways are higher then my ways, his thoughts are not my thoughts" meaning I m not meant to understand everything that happens in life. But what it all comes down to is this, Do I still believe? Do I still trust? Is the Bible still True, Is God still at work.? And When I examine myself the answer way down deep is an absolute YES. I have seen to much, experienced to much been changed to much to doubt now. I remember in a course I was taking once someone asked a question about why we can't understand certain things about God meaning things that happen or don't happen etc. And The answer that was given has stuck with me to this day. "What kind of Go d would he be if I knew everything about him" So really when my Doubt begins to Overtake my Faith I remember "His ways are not my ways and his thoughts are higher then my thoughts". And finally I remember way back in my early teens and again in my mid 20s when I decided this is what I believe and I will believe it forever. I asked Jesus in my own words "Lord if this is you bid me come" And by now everyone knows the answer he gave me "COME".

Since Sunday
Well since my last post I was sick on Sunday and Monday. Also since my last post the city and province went and is still recovering from a huge December flood. I have never saw anything like that in the middle of December in my life. Water was so high it looked like the springtime flood here in Freddy and elsewhere.
So what else is new? I spent sometime last night with a girl I recently met. It was nice to spend time with her and hopefully something further develops there. She had me watch The Big Bang Theory with her and I suprisingly enjoyed it. Then we just hung out some at her place and I came home. Like I said hopefully see her this weekend.
Other then that not a whole lot new at this point in time. I am just starting a 3 day stretch of work now until the weekend. My brother and sister in law and nephew are in Florida hopefully enjoying their time away.
Well my friend is still hanging on in her battle with cancer. Everyones prayers are much appreciated as I feel this isnt going to end well but like I said miracles happen everyday.
Tomorrow I dont have any plans besides coming to work and going to home. I imagine I will talk to my lady friend at some point. She is a very busy gal with her work as its a job that requires alot of work but I am sure she excels at it.
Well break time here for me at work so I guess I will end this entry. Hope everyone stays dry and has fun.
Peace

Sick today
I was home after church relaxing before work and I realized I wasnt feeling well. I still came to work however and that was a mistake. I fell asleep twice at my desk and also upstairs on my lunchbreak.
I want to go home and just curl up and go to sleep.
Church was good this morning as we had The Lapointes there singing some Christmas songs. People who know them or heard them know they are fantastic.
Anyways Im not feeling well so I am ending this blog

Sad couple of days
Boy if I needed a reminder on how fragile we as humans can be and how quickly our life can change I received that this week.
A good friend who is like a sister to me and her family is like my family was diagnosed with Leukemia about April of this year. This came as quite a shock as she was a healthy 33 year old woman with 3 beautiful young boys. So she went through the Chemo and it was determined that she needed a bone marrow transplant. Her brother flew home from out west and the transplant was done and deemed a success. However when the Doctors began giving her the anti rejection drugs the trouble began.
The anti rejection drugs caused liaisons on her brain which have now caused her liver and kidneys to stop working. She was in Halifax for 2 months and 2 weeks ago got sent to Saint John hospital as the docs said nothing more can be done for her. My mother and I went down on Weds and went to the hosp on Thursday to see her and I wouldnt have recongized her if I didnt know who it was. The jaundice has set in and and she cant speak and so skinny
. Without the miracle of her liver and kidneys starting to work again I dont see this ending well. However I serve a God who can heal sickness, is bigger then cancer and still performs miracles.
So if all my blogger friends could say a prayer for her I would much appreciate it as Im sure the family would to.
Lets all remember to appreciate life and each day as it can quickly be taken from us.
